RECOVERY OF THE TRADITIONS OF THE MARINER

(The rennaisence of MOANA)

In February 1997, Battibaleno recovered the wreck "Moana" semi  submerged in the port of Nice. In the Moaris language Moana means  "In the immense blue of the oceans". The schedule of work  needed to recover and restore this superb "Cotre breton" from 1920 with its 3 round world trips and ships Log rich in history and adventure didn't frighten the "band of afficionados of the sea" that we are. On board  Moana, between '54-'59, four men completed the first  round the world marine cine-photographic expedition.

The diary on board Moana

has been translated

and published in seven languages. The rennaisence of this historic sailing ship will be  a great occasion to refocus Media attention to inform the public  at large of our work of restoration and intention to recover the best traditions of the sea.
